Psalm 46:1-2a (NKJV)
“God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear...”
I am claiming Psalm 46 for my current season of life.
Today, as I read this psalm, God allowed me to see it in a fresh way.
Isn’t it amazing how familiar passages can speak to our hearts differently depending on what we are walking through?
Right now, I find myself in a season that is incredibly busy, yet surprisingly peaceful. There is much to do, many responsibilities to manage, and countless opportunities before me. Yet beneath it all, there is a quiet confidence that comes from knowing God is in control.
From past experience, I know how quickly life can change.
I have lived through difficult seasons filled with stress, uncertainty, and challenges I never expected.
Those experiences have taught me that peace is not found in easy circumstances but in the presence of God.
As we learned on Day Two, I am choosing to trust God with all my heart and not lean on my own understanding.
No matter what lies ahead, I know my Shepherd is leading the way.
As I read Psalm 46, five truths stood out to me:
God is my refuge and strength.
God helps me in trouble.
Be still.
Know that He is God.
God is with me.
What comfort there is in knowing that God is both our refuge and our strength.
He is the place we run when life becomes overwhelming, and He is the strength that carries us when we can no longer stand on our own.
Whether your current season is peaceful or difficult, busy or uncertain, remember this: God is with you.
He is your refuge.
He is your strength.
And He will faithfully lead you every step of the way.
Journaling Prompt:
Which of these five truths do you need most today?
How does knowing that God is your refuge and strength help you trust His leading in your current season?
The castle and the word ‘refuge’ were painted with watercolors. Markers were used for the rest of the lettering (which is simply my own handwriting).
