“Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.” Hebrews 1:3 (NKJV)
When we desire God’s direction, we often wonder how He speaks to His children. Hebrews reminds us that God has spoken most clearly through His Son, Jesus Christ. If we want to know God’s heart, character, and will, we need only look to Jesus.
Jesus is the brightness of God’s glory. He perfectly reveals the Father to us and shows us what God is like. Not only that, but He upholds all things by His powerful word. The same Savior who created the universe is sustaining it even now. Nothing is outside His control.
Because Jesus purged our sins through His sacrifice on the cross, we can confidently come into God’s presence and follow His leading. While everything around us may change, fade, or perish, Christ remains forever. In an uncertain world, we can trust the One who never changes.
Today’s Truth:
God speaks to us through His Son.
Jesus is the brightness of God’s glory.
He upholds all things by His power.
He has cleansed us from our sins.
He remains when everything else passes away.
