Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.”
Today, we come to one of the most beloved passages in Scripture. These verses remind us that following God’s leading begins with trust.
Trust in the LORD.
Lean not on yourself.
Acknowledge Him.
He shall direct your journey.
Trusting God sounds simple until life becomes confusing.
We often want to know where God is leading, why He is allowing certain circumstances, and how everything will work out. Yet God rarely gives us the entire map. Instead, He asks us to trust Him one step at a time.
As sheep following our Good Shepherd, we do not always understand the path before us.
Sometimes the road seems uncertain, painful, or completely different from what we expected. During those seasons, we may question whether God knows what He is doing.
The truth is that our Shepherd sees what we cannot. He knows the destination, the dangers ahead, and the lessons He wants to teach us along the way.
His guidance is never random, and His love never fails.
Grasping the wider implications of what Jesus said about being our Good Shepherd helps us immensely during times when we wonder why He is leading us down such a confusing and painful path.
We often have no clue what God is doing right now.
The crucial truth is that we don’t need to know. We simply need to trust.
Journaling Prompt:
What situation in your life feels uncertain right now?
How can you choose to trust God’s wisdom instead of leaning on your own understanding?
My journal is a combination of watercolor paint and markers. I first wrote and drew it out in pencil.
