Even if your name is not found in the Bible, God knows your name!
My name, Judith, is found in Genesis, but Judith in the Bible does not have the reputation that comes with godly character. She was a ‘grievance’ to her in-laws!!
Judith was a Hittite woman, the daughter of Beeri, and one of Esau’s wives, whose marriage caused significant family tension.
When Esau was forty years old, he took Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite to be his wife, and Basemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and they made life bitter for Isaac and Rebekah.Genesis 26:34
Even if, like me, your name is connected with grief and sorrow, with God’s help, you can make a ‘good name’ for yourself.
Esau took his wives from the Canaanites: Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, Oholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite, Genesis 36:2
Recently, after reading Genesis 26:34 and Genesis 36:2, I looked up the meaning of my name. It has a wonderful meaning in Hebrew.
